Anatomy & Physiology I, students will learn several body systems, to include: Lymphatic; Immune; Digestive; Respiratory; Endocrine; Reproductive; and Urinary Systems. Students will also learn the muscles of the head, neck, jaw, spine, and thorax. In addition, students will learn about the nervous system.
Student Objectives
- Define anatomy, physiology, homeostasis, and metabolism
- Place the levels of organization in a hierarchy from least to most complex
- Identify the part of a cell, and discuss their functions
- Describe passive and active cell processes, and give examples of each
- Discuss the tissue types, and give examples of each
- Outline the types of membranes, and state their secretions
- State the 10 main body systems detailing both anatomical structures and their functions
- Indicate the planes of the body
- Identify the abdominopelvic quadrants
- State the terms used to describe anatomical directions; use them to express the location of body structures
- Identify the body’s regions
Course description
Orientation of the Human Body, the students will receive an overview of the Integumentary System, the Skeletal System, and the Fascial System. In addition, the students will receive an Orientation to the Human Body, and the Muscular System. In massage application, the students will learn the rest of the basic massage strokes, and how to plan a session. Pre-requisite is course FM 101.
